Milo was a perfectly healthy, affectionate, and playful boy until he suddenly fell ill this Tuesday. He began gagging and puking frequently without any sign of relief. The next morning I called every vet in my area and we took him to the only one that had availability. Despite running numerous tests, administering IV, and giving antibiotics, his condition worsened and they could not figure out what was wrong.
By Friday morning, Milo was much worse and had not eaten or drank in days. His body rejected the medication that I gave him. He was wheezing, throwing up, and was too weak to move on his own. I had to carry him to the litter box to pee. We rushed him to the emergency vet in the middle of the night because it did not appear he was going to survive much longer at home. His blood levels were extremely elevated and concerning, but further testing did not conclusively reveal what was wrong. The treatments and testing have amounted to nearly $7000 and he has shown little sign of recovery. I am a university student, and getting Milo the help he needs has cost me nearly all my savings. I am still not sure this is the end of it. He has saved my life numerous times, I couldn’t refuse the help he needed to save his.
Due to his need for other testing and treatments, the money I paid will only allow him to stay in the hospital for another day. I feel incredibly helpless and lost, and I wish there was more I could provide for him. I love him so much and I cannot bear the idea of losing him so soon, he is only 3 years old. I know this is a lot to ask, but I would really appreciate any help I can get towards paying for Milo’s treatment. Thank you for taking the time to read this, it has been incredibly difficult to write. I understand that these are economically challenging times, and even just a share or repost would mean the world to me.
