Kaw's Urgent Vet Care: A Community Effort
Donation protected
General Sherman, AKA “KAW,” was hit by a car on 3/29/25. Kaw is one of three peacocks that live in Allen Park. He is the patriarch of the Allen Family Peacocks, and a lot of you see him every day.
The damage to Kaw’s leg was extensive, broken in three places. He required emergency care and a long surgery. We have him in traction for his 6-week recovery. He’s expected to recover with a rod and 7 pins in his leg. He’s a very strong boy and a fighter!
Kaw is a free-range bird with an independent spirit. His eyes are jet black. He loves to hunt crickets and grasshoppers. He bosses the other two peacocks around; he is “General Sherman!” Kaw is the embodiment of Allen Park and the legacy of the Allen family..
We need help paying for Kaw’s vet bills, surgery, follow-ups, medical expenses, medication, and food while he is recovering. If there is any amount you can spare, it will help us provide a better outcome for Kaw. Thank you!
