Covering Expenses After Sudden Death of Brother

Donation protected

Sometime during the night of March 27th, my younger brother Brandon, who was dual diagnosed early on in his life with Down Syndrome and Autism, passed away suddenly in his bedroom. He was found by my mom, who was doing her usual routine of checking on him. The autopsy showed that he had choked on his food.

He was very sweet and always happy, always smiling. My mom worked as his primary caregiver for all 19 years of his life, and I helped as often as I could. He was nonverbal, and after an incident with thrush in 2012, lost his ability to walk on his own. He was very smart and had his own "language" with my mom - she always seemed to know what he wanted, even if it took a little bit some days to get it right. He wanted his TV changed? He gave her the remote. Diaper change? Tried to give her a new pair of pull ups. He loved giving kisses and just giving love in general.

He taught us and everyone who got to know him how to love unconditionally. How to be patient. How to be kind. He made an impact on us and so many people. His death has affected us and so many friends and family. One of my older brothers and I check on our mother daily to make sure she's ok, to make sure she's not alone and that she knows it's not her fault.

I know this is a lot to ask for amid the current pandemic, but any donations or shares would greatly help cover memorial expenses. Thank you so much for reading.
