The two lawyers, Daniel and Georgette Garcia Kaufmann,  who were victims in a weekend shooting at a central El Paso home both worked for the Texas Attorney General's Office.  I first met Georgette many years ago on a family case. What struck me then and remains with me now was her knowledge,  professionalism and all-around pleasant attitude.   She was a credit to the legal profession where many times unrelenting and fierce advocacy unfortunately takes the place of amicable dispute resolution.  Her husband Daniel Kaufmann remains hospitalized in stable condition and , thank God, is expected to recover.  They have a young son.  The funds will be used for funeral expenses and other expenses that arise as Daniel recuperates.  Immediate donations are appreciated.
