My name's katya, and I'm a trans woman. I was born in Croatia and grew up in an extremely repressive rural community and family environment which for years violently socially, carcerally and medically punished me for attempting to transition. After enduring over four years of abuse from the institutions of psychiatry, police, school and family, including being institutionalised at 17, forced on psychiatric medication at 15 and arrested several times for being a perpetrator of 'male domestic violence' against my mother who was sexually abusing me, I emigrated to Germany as soon as i turned 18. scraping by for several years off various kitchen jobs i was eventually forced into homelessness through housing and employment discrimination as well as a categorical dismissal by the German government, who intentionally procrastinated approving my citizen's allowance - which i was entitled to as a German worker. They dragged my application out over the course of seven months with requests for more and more documents (most of which i had already provided) until I hit the cutoff point where I was unemployed for so long that I was no longer considered a german worker with german workers' entitlements. throughout the entirety of this process i was legally obligated to continue paying my health insurance contribution of €250 monthly out of pocket. This dangling of welfare on a stick in front of me while still having to pay over €1000/mo for rent, health insurance and food drained all of my savings which i had been saving for FFS and forced me to move back to my childhood home in rural Croatia to avoid prolonged homelessness. I am closeted here due to fear of violent social retribution from my mother and community. I'm currently working on both getting my legal gender and name changed unbeknownst to my family, as well as saving up enough money to move back to Germany as soon as i can.

I've had pretty horrible dysphoria about my face my entire life, and while estrogen has made it more bearable, seeing and feeling the shape of my face causes me daily distress. I really want to change this, and the way my life is going I won't even come close to affording facial feminisation surgery for at least another decade. I don't want to live my life despising my face and jaw. Facial feminisation surgery is not covered by neither German nor Croatian insurance providers.

The goal is to raise €7000 in both donations and my own contributions to afford frontal cranioplasty, rhinoplasty and a jawline narrowing at Quentin Qassemyar's clinic in Paris. This sum would approximately cover the cost of the surgeries and inpatient stay with any additional funds going towards recovery expenses and to help pay for my eventual bottom surgery.

Thank you sincerely for any money you're willing to contribute.

Any money donated to the campaign will only be spent for surgery and surgery-related expenses. I opened a seperate savings account to which all donations are transferred once processed by GoFundMe, so they never mix with my general finances at all (bar in-person donations, which i deposit at the bank and then transfer manually.)
