Katya Kiev & The Boys
Donation protected
Hi Friends,
Initially, we were hesitant to ask and with so many in need, it just seemed wrong. We have many friends and family in Ukraine and are constantly thinking of them and how they are surviving this terror. We wish them our very best in this dire time and will continue to support them in any way we can. That brings me to why we have now decided to start this funding page, our first page and hopefully the last! My wife's childhood best friend & besty to this very day, who also seemingly introduced me to my wife, needs our help right now! She, Katya, is currently living with a host family in Amsterdam. Katya and her two young sons (Herman & Sasha) no longer have their home, father, or school. Their lives have been entirely up ended! The young boys, 2 & 5, are doing their best to help their mama, but they are still so young. They need to be boys and grow up with childhood memories that make them smile. Katya is an amazing person & mother who provided her home, food, transport and kindness more times than most could imagine. Since her besty moved to America 8 years ago, her friendship has never waivered. She is committed to my wife's happiness and our son's connection with her sons across an ocean, and she always has the kindest things to say to me as a good friend.
She is a Mother & undoubtedly broken to have to leave her beloved country without reason. She and her children and mother (Larisa) escaped Kyiv in the first days of the war. Escaping literally under falling bombs, bunker to bunker, taking hours, days & weeks to finally reach the border of Poland. Katya and her family then found volunteer resources to help them with bus transportation to Germany. Thanks to everyone who has helped Katya and her family escape the war in Ukraine but quite honeslty that is not enough! I cannot even imagine their horror and now being alone in a foreign country with no roof, food, job, school & the basic necessaties to raise two young boys and simply continue to live. If you have even the smallest amount to send for her & her boys next steps, we all would thank you for your kindness!
*** Any funds received will be deposited into Kateryna Sorokolit bank account.
Sincerely,
JRB Family
