Hi my name is Doug. I am Katy’s other half. I was lucky enough to share the last 12 years of my life with this amazing woman. We are a blended family and have been raising four beautiful children together. Katy was the love of my life. She was a supportive, strong, smart, funny and compassionate woman. She loved the beach, animals, Stitch, crystals, and to collect all things cute. She had been battling a stage 4 cancer diagnosis since 2016. The strength and positivity she had facing such a dark and scary prognosis was truly inspiring. She routinely beat odds and statistics all while doing it her way, until the very end. I am setting this fund up in her name because so many of her therapies, treatments and supplements over the years were not covered by insurance. When you add in the last couple months of hospital and at home care costs along with funeral and memorial expenses, financially things are very difficult. Savings drained and debt amounted. Katy always thought of her family first and had a hard time making herself a priority especially if she thought it would take away from any of us. My hope is that whatever money this can generate will ease the burden this horrible disease has placed upon us. So thank you so much in advance if you are able to help whatsoever.
