In Memory of Katy Nosic

I wrestled with the idea to create a GoFundMe page in memory of my sister, and to ask for assistance with the funeral expenses, or to hide behind my pride and not ask for help. The latter would have been a much easier way to avoid the acceptance of reality. To avoid accepting the fact that my sister was brutally murdered. It is so cliché to say, yet, a current reality, that I never thought this would happen to someone in my family. I cannot put into words the feelings and thoughts that I experience throughout the day. It is with a strong support system and great hope that I find each day bearable. 

Rather than dwell on the last momemts of my sister's life, I wish to remember all the wonderful memories with my sister. For instance, her first Thanksgiving in California at my place, which is when the above pictures were taken, or the joy on her face whenever she saw Reese Witherspoon while visiting Los Angeles. Not to mention all of the memories from our upbringing. It is so surreal and she did not deserve this. She was harmless and was not a threat to anyone. She overcame many adversities and moved to Los Angeles, CA to follow her dreams. She was a sister, a friend, a daughter, etc., and above all, she was a human. She had aspirations to work with children. It would be selfish of me not to allow heaven to have one more angel, and one day we will be once again reunited. You are in a better place and I will deeply miss you. I love you.
