In July 2024, our brilliant, beautiful Katy Long was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

A CT scan and an MRI found tumors spreading from her right kidney to her liver and abdominal wall. A biopsy revealed she has Extraosseous Ewing’s Sarcoma (EES), a rare and aggressive type of cancer that forms tumors in the soft tissue near bones.

Katy’s tough. But the prognosis is gutting. There's only a 10 percent chance she'll be alive in five years.

Those fortunate enough to know her might describe Katy as a Klondike bar: Once you melt through her outer shell of sharp wit and dark humor, you're treated to a soft sweetness underneath. Katy has a warm heart and a generous soul. She is fiercely loyal, introspective, and wholly unexpected. (Plus, she loves ice cream more than anyone you've ever met.)
