Katy had been looking forward to a long-awaited vacation for weeks. But upon landing in London, United Kingdom, she had a massive stroke. She was rushed to Charing Cross hospital where she remains in the ICU, unable to communicate or even breathe on her own. The irony of it all is that Katy is a nurse herself, passionate about her patients, their rights, and their care. She is skilled in stroke care and an advocate for advanced directives. She has seen first hand the suffering families endure while loved ones are in limbo. But now Katy’s family is in limbo. I can say that because I’m her spouse. We need funds for lodging, daily expenses, and medical bills not covered by insurance. The future is uncertain. And we need to take Katy home—somehow. Shoot me a message if you can help with lodging in the Hammersmith area.
