I'm Katy, age 15, and I have been selected to go as a participant on the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland in 2027. I am one of the 36 scouts in unit 12 going. This means I wont only be representing England, but the whole of the UK. The world Scout Jamboree is a massive event including Scouts from all across the world. It is a time for Young people from different cultures and backgrounds to get to get together and learn about not only about each other but a lot of other important life skills and just to have fun.

I love scouting, I have been doing it since I was in cubs and I have made so many incredible friends and made memories that will last a lifetime. But also, I feel I have learned a lot about myself in the years I have been a part of this amazing organisation. I have learned that sometimes I need to push myself hard and step out of my comfort zone rather than just carry on doing the same things that I know I will enjoy. I need to be more confident when doing things and not overthink what others will think of me. By doing this jamboree, I hope I will be able to grow more confident and be able to step out my comfort zone more freely and just enjoy the journey ahead of me.

My total goal to raise for this Jamboree is £3500 but not all of that will go to me. Some of the money I raise will go to scouts in less fortunate countries who otherwise would not have had this incredible opportunity too.

However, the Jamboree isn't just the two weeks we spend in Poland, its the 18 month journey leading up to it as well. In this time I will learn more about myself and my unit and will make friendships that last a lifetime. Also, we will be training for all the awesome things we do on the jamboree like cooking, hiking and so much more!

As well as this, I am planning on doing so much more to help me achieve my goal such as, selling arts crafts and bakes, hosting quizzes, bake sales and BBQs and so much more cool stuff.
