Hi friends. My name is Kat Claypool. I live in Charleston, WV, and have 3 amazing dogs—Rizzo, Greta, and Gemma.

In September, I was diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure caused by IgA Nephropathy. I had no clue I had an autoimmune disease and was placed on dialysis immediately.

For the last several months, I have been surviving thanks to dialysis. BUT I am very, very close to having my living donor kidney transplant surgery scheduled.

With that, I am seeking support and help for that process. My dogs will need to be in boarding for about 3 weeks, I will need to visit my team every week (6-hour drive round trip), my caregiver will be staying with me for a while, and the medical expenses—I am a single-income household.

Any support is beyond appreciated. Even a note of encouragement goes a long way. I am immensely grateful for the love and will continue to fight for my transplant!
