Support Kat's autonomy - wheelchair add-on
Donation protected
UPDATE:
Thank you so so much for all your shares and donations so far. It is so appreciated.
After having a trial of the Batec Rapid 2 I can see that it will change my life. Unfortunately the amount I had found on Google of £3,500 was incorrect and on receiving the quote this will actually come to £4,775 including the fitting (welding of attachment on to my wheelchair that the Batec fits onto). I'm attaching a picture of the quote from Cyclone Mobility for transparency.
Please keep sharing this among your networks if you can!
With constant love, care and solidarity,
Kat

Hello, thank you for being here and reading this!
I am asking for your help.
I have been using my wheelchair much more recently to access the world more. For many years my decision was to mostly navigate the world using my prosthetic legs. This has become unsustainable due to sores and the skin getting thinner over the years of being amputee. And I'm only just realising how much I have missed out on as a result, choosing to not go to events and stay at home because of inaccessibility and the fear and pain around this.
I'm finding it extremely difficult to manage this transition and part of this is because I have a self-propelling wheelchair, and not the time or strength or energy to consistently practice the strength and capacity needed to self-propel. And even if I did, it is not sustainable for me with the amount of distance I wish to travel and the impact it has on my shoulders and having historic shoulder injuries.
And so I am asking for support in getting a Batec attachment for my chair, an electric attachment that will allow me to have more autonomy, and hopefully for the first time attend events that I have historically not been able to access. This is beyond my current budget, at £3,500 (sidenote, assistive devices need to be cheaper) and so I could really do with your support.

Any and all contributions to this would be so so appreciated. If you would like to chat about mutual exchanges I would be open to these conversations :)
Thank you!
