Katrina’s Go Fund Me
Our dear friend, wife, daughter and colleague Katrina (Trinh) Wallace is in need of our help, love and prayers.
Suffering from ESRD, on Dialysis and a multitude of other medical issues at such a young age, she recently found out she has another life threatening illness, Diffuse Aveolar Hemorrhage or DAH. Her pockets in her lungs are filling with blood instead of Air/oxygen. She went thru an extensive Cardio-Thoracic Surgery to find this out and the pathology results were so rare, it was sent to the Mayo Clinic for a second opinion. She is now Oxygen dependent and still short of breath with any activity.
Despite all of this, she sees the good around her and her life. She always remains positive and as a devout Christian, God plays an important part of her life.
Why does she need our help? Well she is now unable to work. She has been a long time Emergency Room Nurse helping thousands, and then most recently a Nursing Professor. She is desperately in need of maintaining her insurance to keep the care she needs thru Hoag Hospital. But being on a medical leave, she will have to pay (Cobra) for her insurance. It’s almost $2000 a month!! Plus the co pays etc with all the visits and procedures etc. she has Mortgage payments and all that goes with owning a home.
Please, if you can, donate whatever you’re able. Katrina had a very very difficult time accepting this offer. But so many people love her so and want to help.
Btw, did you know that Katrina and her family escaped war when she was just a child and came across on the USS Midway!! More to come later in that story. And how grateful she and her family are being here in the United States.
