The Palisades Fire has been devastating for so many, but the loss for our dear friends Katrina and Ozan is deeply personal. After years of dreaming, searching, and saving, they finally found their forever home. It was a place filled with love, hard work, and hope for the future.

Katrina and Ozan poured their hearts into making their house a home. They worked tirelessly, putting in blood, sweat, and tears to renovate and create the home they had always envisioned. It was a dream come true—until the fire turned everything to rubble.

Now, they have no home to return to. Adding to the heartbreak, they still carry the mortgage for a house that no longer exists, and their insurance will only cover the minimum. Katrina’s equipment and all of her inventory for her business KAKO Chocolates, all gone. The weight of this unimaginable loss is overwhelming.

We are asking for your help. Please give what you can to help Katrina and Ozan to begin the long process. Every dollar will go toward easing the burden of this devastating loss — for any loss and unmet needs not covered by insurance or disaster relief. They have been told that there's no point in listing any contents in the house as the insurance is maxed out. They still own their land, have a mortgage, no house, no belongings and their neighbourhood is gone. At this stage there is no disaster relief from FEMA for Kat and Ozan, leaving them with no resources to cover essential needs or begin to rebuild their lives.
