On February 4th, Kato was rushed to the emergency vet. He was diagnosed with Spontaneous Pneumothorax, in plainer terms, a sudden lung collapse. Unfortunately this condition affects artic dog breeds moreso than any others and once it happens, the chance of it reoccurring is at a minimum of 50%.
He is home and as comfortable as he can be. This happened suddenly and without warning with an unknown cause. I know as pet owners that we wish these types of things happened to us instead and it hurts to see them in pain. We also know that vet expenses are very costly and a serious strain to finances. I wouldn't typically ask for help, but this isn't about me; it's all for Kato. He is a sweet and loveable pup who is full of life. He is trying his best and fighting to get better. I want what's best for him and I deeply believe that an otherwise healthy, 7 year old pup deserves to live. With the chance this may happen again and with the ongoing care he will need from here on, I am asking for help with the cost that this will incur. Further medical treatments will become progressively more expensive.
I do not want anyone to feel obligated to donate, especially given the climate of the current state of things, but I will appreciate any donation that is given; even sharing this is much appreciated. I set the goal at 2000 but that was only to set an amount to try and reach.
With much love, Joshua.
