05/05/2017 UPDATE: Katinka begins radiation treatment for the four brain tumors on Monday, 5/8/2017. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers because she is going to be wiped out from radiation and dialysis. You can do it, Katinka!!! You're a strong woman!
She's so grateful for all of the love and support everyone has shown her. Even former coworkers who have been long gone have sent her messages of encouragement. Thank you everyone. She is feeling the love!!! She gave me her email address. Message this GFM campaign and I will send you her email if you'd like to write her.

04/27/17 UPDATE: In March, Katinka began to suspect she had a stroke. She has been experiencing weakness on her right-side and has gone from walking with a cane to being walker dependent. The physical strength and progress her body has made since her battle with ovarian cancer is regressing. An MRI on Friday, (4/21), revealed the weakness she has been experiencing is not the result of a stroke, but four brain tumors. Her recommended treatment plan includes almost three weeks of radiation at about 5 treatments per week. The first treatments will be full brain radiation. This will cause her to lose her hair permanently and possibly cause brain damage. After full brain treatments, they will do targeted radiation on each of the four tumors. This treatment plan is in addition to her 3x per week dialysis regimen. Unless she receives a new kidney, she will always need dialysis.
Her uphill battle just went straight up and it is going to be a very rough next couple of weeks for her. Katinka is a strong-minded survivor who has persevered through many personal adversities. However, she is concerned this might be too much for her to handle. She’s worried about her sons, her grandsons, her dogs, her health and everything in between. She needs our support even more now.

Original Story on 04/24/2017
Our dear friend Katinka Berg is facing extra challenging times right now. As if medical trials & tribulations haven't been hard enough on her, she most recently suffered a significant loss with the unexpected passing of her daughter. Katinka is now grieving while caring for her grandson (who is also grieving) and simultaneously managing her tri-weekly dialysis regimen. All of Katinka's money for living expenses has gone to fund her daughter's final expenses and Katinka's own medical bills.
Let's band together and help give Katinka some financial breathing room. SHE NEEDS US!
