Katie Harrison Cajetan Memorial

Hello,
I am Katie's little sister, Tori, and as I have mentioned before, my family and I are planning a Memorial in Katie Cajetan's honor to be held in the United States. Katie was so thoughtful, ambitious, kind, loving, smart, funny... She did anything and everything for her children. She would always give the most thoughtful gifts for birthdays and Christmas because she always knew exactly what you would love. She paid close attention to her friends and family, and was always there for you when you needed her. She often reached out to me even with the huge time difference and the 5,000 miles between us! She loved animals and nature, and passed her sweet, gentle heart down to each of her three beautiful children.

Katie deserves to be remembered and celebrated by those who truly loved her. My dad and his girlfriend were the only ones in our family able to attend her funeral in Germany, and we are sure she wouldn't have wanted it this way. Katie has touched the lives of so many people throughout her travels across the United States and to Germany. I have seen this with my own eyes through how many of you have reached out to me during this despairing time. It warms my heart to hear from all of you, to learn how my sister came into your lives, and for you to express how much she meant to you. It is a tragedy that we do not have her here with us now, in life or in death.

"When a candle goes out so suddenly the darkness can be overwhelming, But in the heart there is a glimmer of light because love holds the memories that gently keep glowing forever." Our goal here is to collect enough funds to host a special Memorial for Katie where everyone she loved can share memories, shed tears for our sorrows, but also laugh and smile remembering what a special person Katie was. Lastly, we will be using the remainder of the funds raised to purchase trees in a National Forest in Katie's memory. It not only gives us a sense of having her here with us, but we know that this is something she would absolutely approve of given her great love for the outdoors and the environment.
