Hi everyone,

In April of 2022, I found out that I carry the CDH1 gene mutation, which significantly increases my risk of developing hereditary diffuse gastric cancer. I have been undergoing surveillance endoscopies since my diagnosis, but in my most recent endoscopy, signet ring cells (an early marker of stomach cancer) were found in one of my biopsies.

Because of these findings and my family history, I’m facing the tough decision to undergo a total Gastrectomy (a procedure where my entire stomach will be removed) on November 6th. This surgery is my only option of preventing the aggressive cancerous cells from developing. I will be out of work for at least two months while I recover. I created this fundraiser to help cover medical bills to relieve some financial stress so I can focus on healing.
