Hi all!

As many of you know, since middle school, I have suffered with unusually large breasts. Being that I am only 5'2", they really stand out as too large. Too many times in my life, I have heard comments or been asked awkward questions about them, and while I try not to let it bother me, it really has always caused me a lot of embarrassment and sadness over the fact that my breasts are what people see first, and judge me for them.

I have never once in my life felt like large breasts were me. The image of myself in my head does not match what I see. Sometimes I look in the mirror and I literally can't comprehend what I see. It's like trying to make sense of those Magic Eye puzzles; it's possible, but I really have to squint and twist my brain a bit. I often wear unflattering clothing to hide myself.

Besides how they look, there are also medical reasons why I have wanted smaller breasts. For example, I have constant neck and back pain. I have terrible posture because it hurts to sit upright. I have grooves in my shoulders from bra straps, and chronic bruising from underwire pushing into my side. Wearing sports bras helped with some of these issues, but in the end, they just don't make them in a size that both fits me and is supportive.

I could go into the reasons why my breasts suck for hours. There are so many small things too. Like avoiding swimming, or not being able to buy clothes off the rack. Seriously, the list goes on and on.

So after years of suffering, I am finally in the position where a breast reduction surgery is an option. I have had my consultation and I can have the surgery as soon as a couple of weeks from now! The thought that by the end of summer, I can be healing from the reduction feels like I can finally breathe. (Hell, maybe I can even get a new costume at the Renaissance Faire this year!!)

The estimated cost of the surgery will be about $16,000. I have opted to not go through insurance because it would wind up being only slightly cheaper to go through them, as opposed to paying outright. Not to mention, insurance wants 6 months of jumping through hoops to prove it is medically necessary, and there is still a chance they won't approve it. (Insurance is an absolute SCAM)

Anyway, we have half of that cost ready to go, but I wanted to open the other half up to all my friends and family, in case anyone is wants to assist in paying for this surgery.

Of course, I know times are hard these days and there are a million other way more worthy fundraisers, so please do not feel obligated to donate for any reason. If this is the case, I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to read this.
