Katie’s Ketamine Treatment for CRPS
Donation protected
For over 2 years I have been dealing with CRPS.
Complex Regional Pain syndrome. A highly painful/rare nerve disfunction.
WHAT IS CRPS?
It causes my leg to feel like it has been set on fire. All I can do is scream into my pillow until the medicine starts to kick in.
CRPS is accurately titled the ‘Suicide Disease’. There is no cure, it is an every day battle to try to move through the pain.
It is the most painful disease known to man. On the McGill pain scale it ranks at a 46/50. Higher than amputation, unprepared child birth, kidney stones and much more.
For the past 2 years my life has been put on hold
Before being diagnosed I was a busy college student working towards 2 bachelors degrees and working at the hospital. Now I’m lucky if I am able to get out of the house.
Ketamine infusions are among the few treatments for CRPS but insurance won’t cover much as it is considered experimental.
I have been searching for an answer to bring me some relief. I have done tests, had scans, got bloodwork, been prescribed opioids to dull the pain. My hope is that the ketamine infusions will replace these things and put me on the road to remission.
While CRPS won’t kill me, it has taken my life from me. I am ready to get it back.
