Katie’s Healthcare and Recovery ❤️‍

As most are unaware, Katie suffered a Stroke on Thanksgiving day. She was rushed to the hospital at which time the initial testing revealed she had a blood clot on the left side of her brain. Further testing revealed she also has a congenital heart defect, including a large hole in her heart, requiring surgical repair and Advanced ambulance rides were required to transport Katie to a different hospital better equipped to handle this urgent condition. Katie has insurance, though was inadequate to address the costs associated to support a healthy recovery, including having to decline an emergency transfer due to costs. Katie has been hospitalized for one (1) week thus far and has been unable to work or attend school. Her safe release from the hospital is still unknown and even upon release, she will not be permitted to drive. Physical Therapy will be necessary once released as well. Work and school for Katie is not possible for the immediate future. Medical bills continue to pile up, as well as regular monthly bills to include home, utilities and grocery. As all who know Katie, you would agree, she is a wonderful mother ( likely the BEST in my eyes) to her two beautiful children and even in her recovery I know for certain it is weighing on her to prepare a nice holiday for her kids with the approaching Christmas holiday. Katie is the most selfless human being I know. I have personally had the pleasure of her loyal, kind and loving friendship for 37 years! Katie has always held her children, family, friends and even strangers in the highest regard showing love, compassion and empathy to anyone along her walk of life. Katie's family and friends are concerned about finances to ensure security for Katie and her two (2) children. Her ability to return to her active self and resume driving is unknown.
