Hi, I’m Lauren, and I’m setting this up for my friend Katie.
Katie is 39 and a single mum to her beautiful 3-year-old daughter, Josie. She is a kind, caring and loving friend and mum.
Last summer, Katie received devastating news: she has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer.
Since then, life has changed in ways that are hard to put into words. There is so much uncertainty, and the emotional and physical toll of treatment is immense. But at the centre of everything is Josie. She is Katie’s world.
Right now, what matters most is time — time to be together, to make memories, and to hold onto the everyday moments that mean everything.
Alongside everything Katie is facing, there is also the very real pressure of finances. With ongoing treatment, travel to appointments, and time away from work, it’s overwhelming for her.
I wanted to create this page so that we can help ease some of that burden for her.
Any money raised will go directly towards supporting Katie — helping with day-to-day living costs, travel for treatment, and giving her the space to focus on her health and her daughter and take her on adventures that will give Josie lifelong memories without added financial stress.
If you are able to donate, thank you so much. And if not, sharing this would mean just as much.
Most of all, thank you for taking the time to read Katie’s story and for holding her in your thoughts
— thank you
Katie’s Family and friends.
This fundraiser is being managed by me on Katie’s behalf, and all funds raised will go directly to support her.
Update: Katie has been admitted to hospital with lesions to her brain and a broken hip due to the cancer weakening surrounding bones. She is currently awaiting surgery and to see the oncology team next week where a plan will be made. Hopefully after surgery she can come home and make some memories with Josie, her family and friends. This is a very difficult time for Katie and those close to her, she is in a lot of pain and is obviously devastated by the recent progression of the cancer. Any donations will continue to go towards Katie’s care at home and to make precious memories with her loved ones.
