❤️Supporting Scott and His Family Through His Battle With Metastatic Cancer
My dad, Scott, has been fighting an incredibly difficult battle for the past 3 1/2 years. What began as stage 3 colon cancer has since progressed to metastatic cancer, and though his body has been through so much, his spirit remains strong and full of love.
Scott has faced every setback and every treatment chemotherapy, strict no sugar diets. He’s the kind of man who, even when he’s in pain, asks how everyone else is doing first. He’s a devoted husband, father, and friend the kind of person who shows up for others, even when life has knocked him down.
My parents have been together for 35 years, building a life based on hard work, faith, and love. They’ve always been self employed, working side by side to provide for our family. Over the past year, as my dad’s health has declined, he hasn’t been able to work, and that’s placed an overwhelming financial strain on them. Despite everything they’ve gone through, they’ve faced it together, with grace and gratitude.
This GoFundMe was created to help ease the financial burden so my parents can focus on what truly matters spending precious time together and making the most of each day. The funds will go toward living expenses, medical related costs, and funeral expenses.
Watching someone you love fight a disease like this is heartbreaking. It’s hard to find words for the mix of fear, hope, exhaustion, and love that fills every day. But if there’s one thing that has carried our family through, it’s the support, prayers, and kindness of others.
If you’re able to give, please know that every single donation no matter the amount brings real comfort and relief. And if you can’t give, simply sharing Scott’s story or keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers means the world.
From the bottom of our hearts thank you for taking the time to read Scott’s story, for donating, for sharing, and for standing beside us in this fight.
Your love and support give us strength and remind us that we are not alone.
With love,
Abigail and the Akers Family
