My name is Katie Holland and I am a college student in Columbus, Ohio. I live on Chittenden Avenue near The Ohio State University.  Every year after the OSU spring football game, there is a block party on the street I live on. Unfortunately, this year the block party was not monitored by authorities like it typically is each year.  The block party, referred to as "ChittFest", became violent. My car was parked on the street because my apartment complex doesn't have enough parking for everyone, but this is a normal occurrence. My car was flipped and rolled in the street multiple times by people attending ChittFest. There wasn't a single window, mirror, or panel on my car that wasn't destroyed by the acts of the people who committed this crime. Fortunately, my physical body was not hurt, but a sense of my safety and security was stripped away from me when my property was totaled by people I do not know, and for no particular reason. I was hurt mentally because of this crime. Additionally, my everyday life has been impacted by this; I have not been able to go to work, the store, or even get myself to a safe area outside of the campus area when I was frightened during this riot.
