Katie’s Bone Cancer Fight

My name is Toni and I am raising funds to help the Price family with medical and living expenses while their youngest child, Katie, fights the fight of her life.

Katie is a 14 year old from Clay County, WV. She is an upstanding member of her community. She excels at school, is a member of the TSA, plays volleyball, and is a devout Christian who attends Mt Pleasant Baptist and is active in her church community. She loves her family and adores her corgi, Ginger.

Over Memorial Day weekend, Katie broke her femur. The XRay showed a pathological fracture, and an MRI was done that showed a lesion suspicious for cancer. Katie was taken from Charleston to Morgantown, and surgery was done to place a plate in her leg and this surgery confirmed her parents’ worst nightmare. Katie has bone cancer. She will need at minimum two more surgeries for the cancer, two rounds of chemo therapy, and a knee replacement.

Katie’s father works for a gas company, and her mother is an ICU nurse. They have already and will continue to miss a lot of work. I had the privilege of working alongside her mother, Mandy, in the ICU and she is the most compassionate and caring nurse you’ll ever come across. But now she needs to take on her most precious patient ever, her daughter.
