Support the Bruce's!

Katie and Nate need our help! As many of you know it has been quite a year for Katie and Nate Bruce. Katie is struggling greatly with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which is life alterating and very debilitating. This disease impacts Katie physically each and every day, often taking from her the ability to do so many of the things we all take for granted. It impacts her emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually and can leave her feeling despair. Nate is doing his very best to be the husband Katie dreamed of and the husband God has called him to be. They are trying to navigate this journey with hope and faith but these things are challenged daily due to all the physical pain and discomfort Katie is experiencing. Katie is living each day not sure the next will come. This alone would be overwhelming for anyone... but unfortunaley the story just got more complicated.

Nate's father was just diagnosed with stage stage 4 pancreatic cancer. It has already spread to his liver and they have found it has metastasized to other areas of his body as well. 60% of patients diagnosed with this disease don't live longer than 60 days. Currently, his dad is in the hospital with pneumonia. Surgery is not an option nor is chemotheraphy due to the stage of cancer he has.

Nate is in a serious internal wrestle as he juggles a job with little flexibility, a wife that has a very serious illness and a father that is dying. He is a highly responsible human being who wants more than anything to meet the needs of those around him. Yet he is faced with an impossible decision... keep working and ensure he is here to help his wife OR take an unpaid leave from work and go be with his dying father. It's awful, right? I think many of us ask ourselves, "What can we do to help?" Often we don't have an answer. But today you do. Please consider donating to Katie and Nate to ensure that when Nate takes a leave from work they will have enough money to meet their financial needs.
