Katie & Kenn's Home Recovery Fund

Donation protected
On the night of November 1st, Katie and Kenn lost their SF home to a devastating fire.  The home Katie and Kenn have shared together for the last 2 years, and the home that Katie has opened up to numerous rescue and foster dogs in need for almost a decade, is now gone. Thankfully, both Katie and Kenn, as well as her current foster and Littles (the bravest little dog of all), are all safe.  Temporary homes have been found for the pups for the time being.  They are beyond grateful to still have each other.  Now, they are focusing on recovering what was lost, and taking it day by day, hour by hour, to figure out a plan to rebuild their lives.

As most of you know, my friend Katie is probably the most caring and selfless person we've ever met.  Not only does she spend her work days saving lives at her veterinary hospital, but she spends her "time off" rescuing and fostering dogs, finding them forever homes (even if it's her own), volunteering at free vaccine/spay and neuter clinics ever month, and educating others on how to be responsible dog owners.  I don't think anyone that's met Katie has not be touched by her warm and caring soul!

Katie and I met in Vet Tech school as we were studying to become RVTs, and we quickly became best buddies.  I appreciated immediately her huge heart- one with a soft spot for pit bulls, but also for any animal in need.  I found my own soul dog, Mr. Catfish Jones, because of her!  Many dogs (of all breeds) and humans alike have come through her home, this SF home, and received love, medical care, shelter, food, and kindness.  She never expected anything in return, and she always gave her whole heart!

Today, Katie and Kenn are the ones in need.  They are currently staying in a hotel, separated from their pets.  I know many of you want to do more (myself included) but aren't sure how, or are not close by to help physically.  If you can, please consider a donation (nothing is too small) to help them recover and rebuild their lives.  Or just leave them a message of love and support if you like.  I know all is greatly appreciated!
