Katie's Cure-Medical Funds

This Go Fund Me is to help raise funds for my older sister Katie Nickles and her son Brayden. She is a single mother who has been un employed since August when she started feeling ill enough to reside at home. This is unlike Katie as she has always been a hard worker her whole life and always put her son first. With only one income it was hard enough before to keep up with bills.
Unsure what was wrong with her she visited the doctors and was unfortunately diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical Cancer in September 2017.

At this time she was also fighting a bad blood infection that went undiagnosed for longer then it should have. After multiple trips to the hospital, with no explanation from the doctors it eventually caused it to seriously affect her heart valve shutting it down. 

So far she has gone through her 25 rounds of external radiation and internal radiation and is beginning her Chemo therapy that will run until the end of May which will consist of numerous trips to London.  After all these trips she will still have to prepare for intense surgery. 
Following her chemotherapy she has to have heart surgery to fix her Mitra valve which was damaged when over looked by physicians. 

As she waits for her disability papers to go through, which could take many months before she receives any compensation, we would like to help ease the financial stress she is going through in the meantime and help organize stable child care for her son while she is tied up. 

As you can imagine this disease has taken a toll on her family not only physically and emotionally but also financially. This is why we have created this page to help keep them afloat while she battles this cancer and all the treatment and travels that come with it.
