Katie's Courageous Fight Against Breast Cancer!

Katie, you are not alone!! We will all be standing by your side fighting along with you, as you take on breast cancer and kick its butt!!  This GoFundMe page is for my beautiful best friend Katie Madsen.   On January 8, 2020, Katie received the most horrifying news a woman could hear!  She had been given the dreaded diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer). To make it even worse, her biopsies came back positive for estrogen, progesterone and HER-2 protein - making her form of breast cancer the second most aggressive form. Over the summer, Katie noticed a change in her breast and decided to have it checked.  Her primary doctor informed her that it was just breast tissue, phew right?  Well, I know that God has been walking by her side, and He knew that she needed to get a second opinion.   And, I am so grateful that she followed her heart and had it double checked.   This will be a long road for Katie, her amazing husband Curtis, and their families.  Her treatment will consist of five months of aggressive chemotherapy, antibody therapy, a mastectomy (possibly double), more chemotherapy and/or radiation, reconstructive surgery, and long-term hormone suppressing medications.  Your donation will help alleviate the financial burden that will be ongoing.  You may also follow Katie's fight against breast cancer on her Caring Bridge health journal webpage, and her "Katie Kicks Cancer" fundraising webpage.  If you are unable to donate, please send your prayers and loving support to Katie and her family.  Also, please share this GoFundMe page, along with her Caring Bridge and Bonfire links below.  "Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you.  He will not leave you nor forsake you."
