Katie's Cancer-Fighting Fund
Donation protected

A couple weeks after getting married and settled in her new home in S.C., COVID spread wildly throughout the U.S. causing large scale shut-downs. Fortunately, she and her husband were able to keep their jobs but she did have to take a pay decrease. Then, just when restrictions were lightening up, Katie and Joseph discovered they were pregnant!
They also discovered that she had cervical cancer. Pregnant. With. Cancer. We were all baffled.
But Katie is a fighter and we are rooting Team Dalenburg! So far, Katie has had one surgery but her treatment will most likely be ongoing. Thankfully, the cancer is growing slowly enough that Baby D is safe and growing well. Little Miss is already quite tall and expected to arrive on January 14, 2021! In the meantime though, this has meant more than twice the number of doctor's visits, tests, scans, etc. as a typical pregnancy. Katie is back to work but under restriction and is physically unable to work full time hours as she prefers.
On top of all of that, they now have extensive water damage on a wall in their rented home that poses a significant health risk as Katie is highly allergic to mold. They have been told by the landlord that they need to evacuate if they want repairs to be made. God has been so good and miraculously provided an opportunity to move one house over. They are scheduled to move around Thanksgiving.
It's hard to imagine that anything else bad could happen but it is 2020 after all! Katie tested positive for COVID on Saturday, Nov 7. In Katie's words she "feels like death". So far her symptoms are fatigue, congestion and coughing. She and Joseph are required to quarantine which presents an additional financial set-back.
But as I mentioned, Katie is a fighter. Fighters still need cheerleaders and coaches sometimes though. That's where you come in! Please join me in supporting Team Dalenburg as they brave this battle. One way you can support them is by donating a financial gift. Any funds raised will be used to offset Katie's medical costs and prepare a safe home for Baby D.
We also ask that you continue to lift this family up to God in prayer. Katie and Joseph welcome all of the good vibes and encouragement. Much love and thank you in advance for all of your support. It truly means more than you will ever know!! Thank you!
