Katie and James Need Our Help!!
Donation protected
Katie and James Woods two of the most amazing people you could ever meet. They would give the shirts off their backs to help someone if they could. Now, they need our help!!
Just prior to the New Year, Katie was struck with a sudden illness which caused her great pain, the inability to walk and trouble with her speech among other things. After spending 3 days in one hospital with no results, she was moved to a hospital in Philadelphia where they believe to have found the cause of her illness. She is being treated for ADEM (Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis). ADEM is a rare inflammatory demyelinating condition of the brain and spinal cord that damages the protective covering of the nerve fibers. It is an autoimmune condition where her immune system is mistakenly attacking her own brain tissue. The good news is ADEM is treatable and 85% of people make complete recoveries.

Katie gave birth to their son Henry on July 12, 2016 and used her short term disability provided by her job to be home with and take care of Henry. She is likely going to be out of work for a couple of months due to her illness. James is finishing up school to be a lineman with JCP&L so he is not able to work full time. With pending medical bills and the costs of everyday living, Katie and James could really use some help!!
Please open your hearts to these wonderful people and donate. Any amount will go a long way towards helping them get back on their feet. Thank you so much in advance for all your kindness and generosity.
