Katie is one of these incredibly rare people that are eternally good, forever putting people before herself and always going the extra mile for everyone. She will never know how many people’s lives she has changed for the better.
She is the best mother, wife, sister, friend and the most incredible nurse.
She needs our help more now than ever in her fight against cancer.
On November the 15th, only one week after her son’s 1st birthday, Katie was given the devastating news that her appendix cancer had spread to her abdomen and pelvis. And she now needs major surgery and chemotherapy to save her life.
Katie has a very rare form of cancer called Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP). She will urgently need to travel to Basingstoke (specialist centre for PMP) where she will receive her treatments.
She will require intensive care treatment and has an expected recovery time of over 5 months.
Due to the seriousness of her illness, she is expected to go to Basingstoke any time now. She will potentially remain in Basingstoke for the duration of her hospital stay at her specialist centre (due to the rarity of PMP).
Therefore, we are raising money to help support Katie’s family to move to Basingstoke and support her for the duration of her treatment almost 150 miles from home.
Please stand with us against the fight for cancer and help support Katie and her gorgeous family through this incredibly hard time, WE LOVE YOU KATIE!
Thank you all for your love, friendship and support,
Katie’s friends and family

KATIE’S STORY
Katie, up until last year, was the most physically fit person, doing half marathons and even triathlon’s for fun! She is an avid runner and is a part of lots of running clubs often helping out with local children’s running clubs as a parkrun juniors marshal.
She is what you would call a social butterfly; always busy and permanently lifting everyone’s spirits! Adored by everyone.
Just over two years ago, Katie and her Husband Alex were desperate for a baby and had been trying for many years with no luck. After enduring months of hormone treatments Katie was told she needed further fertility surgery.
It was during that surgery that they noticed an abnormality in her appendix and immediately removed it and took it for testing.
The biopsy had shown that the appendix was, in fact, cancerous. Fortunately, however, the surgeons thought they were able to remove it all.
Katie would often say “being infertile SAVED MY LIFE” because if she hadn’t had the fertility treatment, they would have never found the appendix cancer.
Katie is an intensive care nurse, and an amazing one at that, and one-night shift stated to feel “funny” and she took a pregnancy test and she was PREGNANT!
9 months later they welcomed the cheekiest little chappy, Austin, to the world!
Katie celebrated her 30th Birthday this year and Austin’s first birthday- what a roller-coaster of a year!
But recently Katie had to go back for a check-up routine, MRI and bloods. And sadly, this week received the most heart-breaking news: that the cancer has spread, and major surgery is her only hope.
Please, help Katie and her family in this truly horrendous time.
