My name is Katie, I’m 30 years old, and I am asking for your help to fight for my life.
I was first diagnosed with bowel cancer when I was just 26 years old following years of misdiagnosed ill health. Since that day, my life has been filled with endless hospital appointments, treatments, and surgeries. Over the last 4 years, I have undergone multiple major surgeries and completed countless rounds of chemotherapy through the NHS.
But sadly, my cancer has returned for the third time, and it has now spread to my pelvis. On 26th June, I went in for surgery hoping they could remove the tumours, but after careful planning, the surgeons told me it was not possible to do so without causing permanent damage and compromising my quality of life in a way I simply could not accept.
After exhausting every treatment option available here in the UK, my medical team have told me there is nothing new they can offer through the NHS. I have reached the end of the road with standard care.
But I have not given up hope.
I have found a clinic in Germany, the Hallwang Clinic who specialise in advanced, groundbreaking integrative oncology and immunotherapy treatments that are not yet available here. They have reviewed my case and believe there is still a way forward for me. This treatment is my very last chance.
The initial stay of 3 weeks will cost 110,000 Euros, and this will cover specialist testing, personalised immunotherapy and the first phase of treatment. After this, I will need further courses of treatment to continue what is started, to give me the best possible chance of recovery.
I know this is an enormous amount of money to ask for, and I never thought I would have to do this. But I am not ready to give up. I want to be here for my family, to live a full life, and to see what the future holds.
Every single penny raised will go directly towards my treatment, travel and medical costs. If we raise more than the target, it will all go towards further treatment and care.
If you are able to donate anything at all no matter how small, I will be forever grateful. And if you can’t donate, please share this page. Every share helps more people see my story, and that means more hope for me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Thank you for your kindness, your support and for being with me in this fight.
With all my love and gratitude,
Katie
