Katie needs a new engine!

Hi, my name is Katie. Those who know me know that I'm an extremely hard worker and I never ask for anything. I am the "I'll figure it out on my own" type. I'm always the one that people come to for help, and I would do anything and go out of my way to help others. That's why it's so hard for me to reach out and ask for help, but I'm taking the advice of others and starting a GoFundMe.

Life has been really hard for me lately and it's no surprise that as soon as I start getting back on my feet and think things are cooling off I have a huge unexpected expense that pops up. Unfortunately my vehicle, which is my only mode of transportation, started having issues last week. The engine finally went out on me a few days ago. I got it towed down to the shop and they told me that the engine is toast and the timing chain went out. They want $6,300 to fix it and unfortunately cannot afford to pay all of that. I work full time and support myself, and have about 1500 dollars I can pay myself, but I need help with the rest. I would get a new vehicle but I still have $6,000 left to pay on my loan so I'm kind of forced to fix this one, and the price of used vehicles these days is outrageous. I feel like it's a better idea to fix my current vehicle and hopefully it'll last me 5 years or more until I get it completely paid off.
