Katie Montana Memorial Bench
Donation protected
Katie Montana- beloved friend, massage therapist and member of the Bend, Oregon community passed away unexpectedly March 1, 2018. Katie was kind, honest, fun-loving, adventurous, a patron of the arts and protector of the environment. She is already greatly missed by her friends and clients. A group of us have come together to plan her Celebration of Life. Because Katie had such a tremendous impact not only on everyone she met, but also in the community, we feel it a fitting tribute to place a Memorial Bench in Katie's honor overlooking the Deschutes River. We are asking for assistance from the community, friends, family and loved ones to cover the $1300 for the Memorial Plaque. Dedications are bronze cast plaques placed at a bench or a permanent picnic table located on Bend Park & Recreation District properties. Bend Park & Recreation Foundation is the administrator for this program and a portion of the fee charged for all dedications is donation to the Recreation Scholarship Fund, supporting lower income children and families with fees for District programs and helping to provide free community recreation opportunities for everyone to play. Cost is $1300 for a dedication at an existing bench or picnic table. The fee includes a custom 3” x 8” bronze cast plaque, installation and the donation to support recreation scholarships. Plaques are typically placed in the concrete pad or pavers at the base of the bench or table, or in a small boulder next to the site, depending on location. Please help us reach this goal to place a permanent memorial in our community for Katie Montana.
