Katie McElweenie - Beacon of Light Award

"Katie has been described as a bright light to all the people that had the pleasure to meet her. Her warmth left you with a feeling of happiness and joy."

 

The light she brought to Galt Collegiate Institute will always be remembered by staff, students, and administration. The school and the local community dearly miss Katie's bright smile, kindness, and genius. To honour Katie, we are establishing a scholarship for a graduate of GCI.

 

This scholarship is established by friends and family of the McElweenie Family. This award will be given annually (for the next ten years) to a graduating  student who is pursuing post-secondary education.
