It's been a hard year for Katie Marie.  She's been pretty private about it until recently, but we've talked about it quite a bit in the van.  Strange health problems that have been incredibly difficult to figure out.  The good news is that she does have a diagnosis now - turns out she has multiple very large fibroids and is going to have to have a hysterectomy.  The hard news is that she's going to have to have a hysterectomy very very soon.  She's in a danger zone.  

Katie does have insurance, but it only covers a portion.  Also, aside from the actual expense of the operation and all the related blood work, tests, scans and hospital visits, she's going to be out of work for a while. Playing music on the road is a physically demanding job.  This is going to cut deep into her ability to make money for a while.  

Katie is a rock.  She's traveled all over the US and to seven other countries playing mandolin and drums with us.  When she's not on the road with us, she's probably on the road with someone else, and if she's not, she's working hard in Austin or in her home studio.  I DO NOT know anyone who works harder or has a stronger hustle than Katie.  

I know it's the holiday season.  I know there are lots of other places that need your money.  If you've got a little extra, it sure would mean a lot to pitch in here and ease her burden.  Send it with love and positive healing thoughts.  If you can't send money, send the thoughts and love and SHARE!  Maybe you've got a friend who can.
