Help Katie Kick Cancer

Katie Murphy. She is a daughter, sister, friend, fiancé, and amazing woman. In her 29 years, she has hiked through the lush greenery of Ireland, swam with sea turtles in the Galápagos, published scientific findings, volunteered at a horse rescue and spent 6 months researching & fishing in Antarctica! Now she's about to embark on her biggest venture yet: defeating cancer.

2017 has been a difficult year thus far. Very shortly after losing Tom's dad to leukemia, Katie was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in April. It was identified as stage IV marginal zone lymphoma that has transitioned to diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. She has started chemotherapy (R-CHOP) and is projected to finish this treatment in early October, just in time for her wedding.

Katie and Tom got engaged in September 2016 on a beautiful, scenic overlook in Door County and are getting married this fall. At a time in her life when she should be focusing on celebrating, she instead will be battling.

It is our hope to do all we can to help Katie through the difficult days ahead. Thankfully her insurance has covered many of the expenses, but thus far out of pocket has been approximately $5000 and will still increase. Donations from this fund will go towards both current and upcoming medical expenses--helping to ease the financial burden for this courageous woman as she fights cancer.
