Katie Hurley is the owner of Pretty Paws Mobile Grooming in Granbury, Texas.  She is the single mom of a precious little girl and one of the hardest working women I have ever known.  Her motto is "Eat Sleep Groom" and she means it.  As you can see, she is a beautiful girl whose lovely face makes a wonderful photographic subject.

On Tuesday, October 30, Katie and her partner Chris were leaving Pecan Plantation with their mobile grooming van when they saw two dogs on the bridge, scared and disoriented.  They were able to get one dog in the van, but the other jumped over the bridge into the fast-moving waters of the swollen Brazos River!  Without a thought, Chris jumped in to save the dog, but the water was so fast and the dog was so terrified that he began to be in trouble too.  Katie jumped in to help them both.  The terrified dog bit her face very badly and STILL she managed to save it.  The dog is in holding at animal control, waiting to be claimed. With every conversation Katie begs people not to blame the dog.

Katie's  face will never be the same.  This is not the most graphic photograph, either.    She required over 100 stitches and there will be more surgeries to come.
Katie's heart for animals is amazingly big.  She loves every animal she comes in contact with and now she needs our help.  Will you help me help Katie with her medical bills, and to get back on her feet again?  I'm self-employed too so I know if you don't work you don't get paid!

If dogs had wallets Katie would be rich because they all love her and would help.  But they can't, so will you?
