Remembering Katie on her 30th Birthday
My loud, bubbly, bright sister Katie was due to get married on the 31st of October 2022. We were all celebrating with a Hen weekend and I was excited to be supporting her with her wedding dress fitting. Kate had put so much love and attention into her wedding day and we were all looking forward to seeing her special day come together and celebrating the next chapter of her life.
Four weeks before the wedding, we were informed that Kate had been taken into ICU at the RDnE Exeter with a sudden cardiac arrest. Over 13 long days and nights we tried to prepare ourselves for what our new future might look like. We were faced with the worst possible outcome and only knew that life would never be the same again.
On Tuesday, the 18th of October 2022, surrounded by her loved ones, our lovely Katie passed away.
In Kate’s memory. We will be fundraising for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). The charity was established in 1995 to help prevent young sudden cardiac death. They aim to achieve this with a greater awareness, screening and research: and to support affected families.
So please support CRY in memory of Katie, preventing families having to experience devastating lose like we have.
Thank you everyone for your support, it’s appreciated by us all.
