I am updating this post that was going to be arranged by Katie’s boss Bill... Katie (Hoffmaster) Barbieri Our strong and beautiful friend, colleague, cousin, aunt, sister, wife, and mother Katie (Hoffmaster) Barbieri is battling Stage IV Neuroendocrin Cancer. Katie is fighting for more time to spend with her beloved family. Katie was diagnosed on May 19 with Stage IV Neourendocrine Cancer which is very rare. She is fighting tumors that occupy her Pancreas, Liver, Spleen and Lung. Katie will began her aggressive Chemotherapy the day after her prognosis was giving in hopes to reduce the tumors that have caused increase pain and discomfort and provide her with quality of life. Katie and Sandro are parents of two amazing children Tyler, 12 and Bella, 9, Sandro will be juggling the kids, work and caring for Katie 24/7. When she is in the hospital, it is even more challenging to visit Katie especially considering the Pandemic restrictions. In addition, Katie is facing the economic hardship with her out of pocket expenses of 20% medical debt and loss of income. Katie has touched countless lives leading her team at Longhorn Steakhouse, her friends and her beloved family. Her passion for work and dedication to the people in her life are evidenced in the loving support she has already received. This scenario seems like the unimaginable but Katie remains courageous and peaceful with the hopes of spending quality time with her her beloved family.
