Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of Matt Heighes and are concerned about what comes next for his wife Katie and their daughter Juniper.
Every person who knew Matt liked him. He was a good husband, dad, brother, and son. He was a great friend and loved spending time with family and friends.
Matt and Katie married in May of 2016 and welcomed their daughter in October, 2018.
Matt enjoyed their dogs Darcy and Barley. He had discovered and was perfecting his homebrewing, he even won first place in a local brew contest for his brew "Barley Beast".
Katie's and Matt's families and friends want to support this young family now and forever with love and friendship. Thank you!
Transparency of Funds
I have created this fundraiser for my niece and her daughter. The funds donated will be used for immediate needs for Katie and June and for subsequent needs for June as she grows to adulthood. Supporting Katie and June will help each of us carry on Matt's legacy. We've created two milestones; an immediate one of $100K to support his family during this time, the next goal of $150K to help June as she grows to adulthood and pursues whatever goals she sets later in her life. Katie McKenzie will be solely responsible for withdrawing and transferring these funds.
We are currently working on a way for donations to be made outside of Venmo and will update this entry when an account has been established.
