Katie & Cliff Giannuzzi (LNU Fire Relief)
On August 19th, 2020, Katie and Cliff (our parents) lost their home and everything they've built to the LNU Lightning Complex fire that ravaged through the hills and countryside of Vacaville, CA.
1 AM on Wednesday morning they woke to a Sherriff banging on their door telling them to vacate. They looked outside, stunned by a wall of fire scouring their hillside. They did their best to grab what they could, packed up their dog, and fled to safety, terrified to leave behind the life they've built together.
If you know our mom and dad, you know they've worked their whole lives to build their own sanctuary out in the hills of Vacaville. They have poured their heart and soul into tirelessly executing on their vision. No project too big or too small, always striving to curate an experience for their family, their grandkids, and really anyone who was to enter the gates of the ranch.
What was once their oasis, has been reduced to a pile of ash. And along with it, all of the valuables that have been collected through the years, or passed down from generations past. They escaped with their dog, a small bag of clothes, and their lives, but there is so much that is just gone and unrecoverable.
We don't know what next steps look like, nor do we know what the future of the ranch will be.
We do know the power of family and friends and are asking for your help.
Our goal is to utilize donations to get our mom and dad back on their feet. To give them the basic resources and support they need to rebuild their lives. To give them hope, to make the reset button seem a little less intimidating.
It's challenging to put a price on all that was lost and the unforeseen costs that are ahead, but we deeply appreciate any amount big or small that you can donate to bring some relief to this devastating time for our mom and dad.
