Interested in making a direct donation to the animal universe? I am raising funds to help with personal animal rescue efforts.  Funds raised so far have been  used to spay/neuter a mother cat and her two 5 month old kittens recently rescued from a local hiking trail in a remote area. The cats were obviously dumped along the trail to fend for themselves when they were noticed by a local hiker.  Volunteers spent the Thanksgiving weekend hiking in and catching the cats. Two of the cats are in new homes or on their way to a new home and one is still in foster care, recovering.   Mom cat who was pregnant with 8 had some surgery complications and is still recovering.   I am also raising funds to help cover costs of food for 40+ feral cats we feed on a daily basis.  Before retirement it was easier to keep up with expenses but with limited income now and cold hungry cats eating more food in the winter, keeping up with expenses is challenging. Any donation will be greatly appreciated!                                                                                                                                 

Update 12/26/2020: Since starting this fundraiser more animals have needed help.  I offered to help feed a woman's yard cats in Concord while she is in the hospital.  I found one cat on her porch barely moving.  "Gracie"  was in heart failure.  I took her to the Vet to be euthanized.  On Christmas Day I took in this new kitty in the carrier.  She has a mouth injury - possible infected tooth and other injuries.  She is old and matted, she was out in the cold, and someone had to take her in.  So I did.  She is now warm and  inside in a cage and on a blanket.  I was able to get pain meds for her today until I can get her in to a Vet, hopefully this coming week.  Since most animal shelters are closed due to Covid 19, individuals and non-profit rescues are having to step in to help. We are feeling overwhelmed! Donations are appreciated!
