My name is Kathy. Let me start off with giving a little back story about my life. I am a mother of four, and a grandmother to seven. I love spending my free time with my family. I can't be with all my kids because two live in California, along with three of my grandchildren. My youngest daughter lives with me, as well as her two sons.
I work full time at a small company that does not provide insurance yet. I love my job and the person that I work for, so I am not looking to leave. As I have gotten older, there has been a lot of wear and tear on my body. A few months back when I was in California visting my family I got injured. I was in the store with my oldest daughter and grandkids. My daughter was pushing the basket as I was walking, and I tripped over my grand-daughter. I went to reach for the basket and fell.
From that point on I have had a horrible pain in my shoulder. I finally went to the doctors, that I had to pay out of pocket for. They did x-rays and MRIs, and found out that I have a torn rotator tendon. The doctor informed me that I need surgery. Without surgery the pain will only get worse, as the tear gets worse. I will eventually lose the use of my arm.
In January I will be able to get inurance when they have it open enrollment for me. The amount I would have to pay a month is $970. When I go back to the doctor the copay will be about $800. They have not told me how much the anesthesia or the surgery will be. When I do get the surgery I will have to be out for 2-3 weeks, cutting into my rent money, which is 1100 a month.
If you could help with funds for my medical expenses it would mean everything to me. Not being able to pickup and hold my younger grand children is so hard for me. I can't play with them the way I used to and it breaks my heart. Please if you could help me, my kids, grandkids, and myself would really appreciate it. It is so difficult for me to ask for help, but it is so important for me to be able to have the full use of my arm back. I would be forever grateful to anyone able to donate, or even send good thoughts and prayers my way.
