Kathy's journey towards cure

Kathy Barnard is a beloved choir director in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.  Since the founding of Pittsburgh School for the Choral Arts (formerly Oakland Girls Choir) , she has touched the lives of hundreds of girls. Kathy believes in the power of every voice, and in nurturing those voices to their best.  Kathy has been recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  After surgery (today) , she will begin treatment.  Her spirit is great and she is ready to take on this journey for cure.  Cancer of course, comes with its financial challenges.  Although Kathy has insurance, she also has a high deductible.  In addition, she will be taking a leave of absence from her work with a significant reduction in pay.  As friends whose lives have been touched significantly by Kathy, her music, and her teaching, we are hoping to alleviate at least the financial  worry that comes with this battle to allow Kathy to put all her focus on cure.
