First off, we want to thank everyone who has helped support the Hansen Family thus far! They are very thankful for their family and friends who have been keeping Kathy and their family in their thoughts and prayers since the beginning of this journey. The Meal Train has been a such a huge blessing to them because we know that Kathy worries over her husband and children more than herself! The meals and donations have taken a huge weight off of her shoulders.

Kathy’s first few surgeries and undergoing chemo were hard enough on her body, so her invasive surgery in January will take quite some time to recover from. She is still unable to eat very much and her nutrition is super important for recovery. With her starting chemo again on March 20th, she will need even more vitamins and nutrients.

We set Kathy set up with IV Therapy at our local, Live Hydration Spa, where she has been able to receive vitamins and nutrients intravenously so they enter her bloodstream directly. This way, her body absorbs 99% of the vitamins, as opposed to oral vitamins that her body may not absorb. Unfortunately, this is not covered by insurance but it’s crucial for her recovery. Each time she goes in to receive IV vitamins, it is at least $185 and we need her to be able to go weekly, especially during chemotherapy. If we are able to raise the funds to put her on their six month membership, it will lower the cost of each bag of fluids that she receives, too!

IV therapy is just the beginning of the care needed for our sweet friend to keep fighting. Their family has bills piling up after all of these surgeries, chemotherapy and constant appointments and they need our help so she will accept the care that she truly needs.
