Nathan Yocham. Son-in-law to Kathy Gloria. Husband to Samantha Yocham (formerly Gloria). Samantha received a call around 3 am this morning, and her mom thought she was having a heart attack. Samantha drove her to the ER, and it was confirmed that she suffered from a Dissected Aorta - Type A.

Kathy was flown out around 10 am to have emergency open-heart surgery at Memorial Hermann. She has since undergone an intense 7-hour surgery to repair the issue. She is out and currently in ICU. She is expected to be there for a few days, as well as about a week to be monitored.

I do not fully know the costs that will be associated with this unfortunate event. She has insurance through Marketplace, but her deductible ($8,100), loss of income, bills, medical expenses not covered, aftercare, rehabilitation, and any other miscellaneous items that are not included will be unaffordable.

Kathy has always been a great joy in my life. She absolutely made her position as a “mother-in-law” something I treasured and never feared. She is 63 and has rescued and fostered multiple cats and dogs. She plays an active role in our children’s lives, as well as ours.
