Hi. My name is Lindsey White I am the niece of Kathy Young. Kathy has been batteling a lot of medical issues for awhile now and just when we thought we was on track to getting better she started losing weight. Kathy went to her doctor to get some answers and on the night of Feb 23rd we got the devastating news that Kathy has lung cancer in her lower left lobe (a nodule)and it is Squamous Cell Carcinoma which runs in her family. Joe and her have shed a lot of tears together, talked about it since she have received this devastating news and he will be by her side through out this whole process.

Joe and kathy met with surgeon and at this time it is localized he is thinking. She does have to have a PET-CT (to make sure it has not spread) and will get it scheduled Friday when I see my oncologist. Depending on results what treatment she will have to have if it has spread after surgery. If it didn’t spread no treatment after surgery.

Joe is already out of work for another 4 weeks due to his recent surgery and will have to take more time off to take care of her. Kathy has a great support team and has many friends and family by her side. So if you all would please say some extra prayers! All money will go towards what insurance does not cover and to help with the expense of traveling to and from apts and time that will have to be taken off work.
